Abstract

Objective To investigate the effects of nitric oxide/endothelin 1(a pair of resistant agents) in diabetic nephropathy. Method Observation of the endothelin 1 gene expression of renal cortex by RT RCE in 12 STZ induced mice model(DM group) and 8 mice with control group for 12 weeks and assessment of the content of nitric oxide. Results The endothelin 1 of renal cortex in the DM group was significantly increased as compared with control group( P 0.01), but the content of nitric oxide was lower than that of control group ( P 0.05). Conclusion It is confirmed that the formation of endothelin 1 was increased and the formation of nitric oxide was impaired, thus aggravating dibetic nephropathy.
