Abstract
The authors believe that the coming era of informatio n and maturation of technology related to digital earth are the basis of digital city construction. Urban planning is an important part of city construction. Th e important role of urban planning in digital city is expounded; and the effects of digital city on urban planning are discussed emphatically.
