Abstract
Objective To analyze the reasons of exposure of hydroxyapatite(HA) false eyes after implantation. Methods A total of 43 cases (43 eyes) of HA sphere orbital implantation were reviewed retrospectively, which were followed up from six months to four years. Results Nine of them had implant exposure. Exposure of the implants occurred from seven days to six months after the surgery. Conclusion Several factors affect the occurrence of implant exposure, which include exclusion and dissolution of the homologous sclera wrapping implants, surgical techniques, surgical methods, and nursing after implantation.
