The Main Responsibility and its Realization of Public Schools for Migrant Workers' Children:Taking Pudong New Area As an Example

The education for migrant workers' children has attracted increasing attention in recent years.According to the national relevant policies,the public schools have the main educational responsibilities for migrant workers' children.In 2011,A survey has been conducted by Pudong New Area,89schools participated in the survey.The results show that compared with private school,the public schools have obvious advantages.Namely the public school are more well-equipped,the teachers' professional competence is higher,the curriculum and teaching is more standard and effective,so the students and parents are more satisfied with public schools.At the same time,the public schools also have problems in education for migrant workers' children.Namely teachers have misunderstanding to migrant workers' children,the guidance of teachers lack of pertinence,teachers and parents lack of cooperation,academic evaluation of students is not standard,etc.Therefore,the government should improve the public education function,strengthen the cooperation of government,school,family and community to improve the quality of public school,which will further promote the education fair.
