Analysis of characteristics of dynamic reservoir capacity of Three Gorges Reservoir

The Three Gorges Reservoir is a channel-type reservoir under the normal impoundment level of 175 m.In order to study the influence of dynamic reservoir capacity on flood control,we analyze characteristics of dynamic reservoir capacity of Three Gorges Reservoir in the aspects of surface profile,dynamic reservoir capacity calculation of typical flood and dynamic capacity relation curves.The results show that the dynamic reservoir capacity of Three Gorges Reservoir for different measured floods during 2007 to 2010 is between(5.94～53.33)×10 8 m 3,which accounts for 2.24%～19.28% of the total reservoir capacity.Whether the dynamic reservoir capacity is taken into consideration significantly affects the flood storage calculation of Three Gorges Reservoir,and the influence of dynamic reservoir capacity is either positive or negative in the flood control of Three Gorges Reservoir.The dynamic reservoir capacity of Three Gorges Reservoir is affected by the water level in front of the dam,inflow and outflow of Three Gorges Reservoir.
