Abstract
The algorithms for ITU G.728 and some main features about the fixed-point DSP chip TMS320C5410 are presented. The multi-channel G.728 codec running on TMS320C5410 is designed according to the characteristic of the hardware structure and compile system. The key technologies and problem of the real-time implementation of the multi-channel G.728 codec on fixed-point DSP chip are discussed. The optimization technology to the G.728 encoding and decoding algorithms is given. To reduce the computational complexity, the best codebook index selector and the Levinson-Durbin recursion modules are improved.
