Abstract
ObjectiveTo study the correlation of the flow mediated dilation (FMD) in the brachial artery with coronary artery disease (CAD) by ultrasonography. MethodsFifty two patients with CAD and 46 patients with CAD tendency underwent ultrasonography. FMD of the brachial artery was measured by high resolution ultrasonography (10 MHz) before coronary angiography. ResultsFMD were 0.05±0.01 in patients with CAD,0.09±0.04 in patients with CAD tendency ( P =0.01)。It was demonstrated that a cutoff value for detecting the presence of CAD was 10%, with sensitivity of 88%, and specificity of 71%. ConclusionFMD is a significant indicator in the diagnosis of CAD.
