Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship between atherosclerosis of extracranial and intracranial arterial and ischemic stroke. Methods A total of 383 patients with ischemic stroke were assessed by color Doppler ultrasonography and transcranial Doppler ultrasonography (TCD). They were separated into first time of ischemic stroke and several times of ischemic stroke by clinical feature. Results The prevalence of carotid atherosclerosis plaque and intra cranial or extracranial arterial stenosis was higher in the patients with cerebral infarction several times than that in the patients with the disease first time. Conclusions There is a close relationship between ischemic stroke prevalence and carotid arteriosclerosis stenosis.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
