Treatment and Diagnosis of Ureteral Transitional Cell Carcinoma

Abstract

Objective To probe into the dignosis and treatment of transitional cell carcinoma of ureter.Methods 46 cases of transitional cell carcinoma of ureter were analyzed retrospectively.Results The diagnostic positive rates of urine exfoliative cytology,B model ultrasound scanning(B US),computerized tomoscanning(CT),magnetic resonance urography(MRU),cystoscopy and retrograde ureteropyelography were 60.0%,21.7%,73.7%,100.0%,85.0% and 88.9% respectively.Recurrence at original place of tumor occurred in 6 and the bladder metastasis in 5 and abevacuation in 9 cases.12 cases died.Conclusion CT,MRU,cystoscopy and retrograde ureteropyelography are the most important diagnostic approaches.Radical nephroureterectomy and a cuff resection of bladder mucosa should be the treatment of choice.
