Abstract
The author described and analyzed the secular variation of river regime and hydrology of the Weihe River. And because of the construction of the Sanmenxia reservoir, the Tongguan altitude has been greatly uplifted, the water level of the Weihe River has been raised, and the Weihe River downstream has been seriously filled by a great of sediment. The flow capacity of the Weihe river during the flood period dramatically decreased, which makes the situation of flood controlling serious.Through analyzing the data,it can be seen that the sedimentation capacity of the Weihe river has a linear correlation with the Tongguan altitude, and dropping the water level of the Sanmenxia reservoir plays an important part in controlling flood and decreasing disaster for the Weihe River.
