Aerodynamics Characteristics Investigation for Flying Wing Uninhabited Aircraft

Abstract

Flying wing configuration aircraft gets rid of tail in order to improve aerodynamics characteristic and reduces RCS(Radar Cross Section),but it also leads to the reduction of controlling efficiency.Control surfaces play an important role in the design of flying wing configuration aircraft.The logical control surfaces can ameliorate the limitation,provide enough control strength,and satisfy the requirement of the stability of flying wing aircraft.Aerodynamics characteristics and elementary stability and control of flying wing configuration aircraft were theoretically analyzed in this paper.The conclusion from the analyses is compared with the data got from some experiments to study aerodynamics characteristics of the aircraft,analysis the function,operation characteristics and existent problem of control surface.All this efforts add foundation for raising stability of the aircraft and design of the stability augmentation system.
