The retrospectively study to the treatment of peripartum cardiomyopathy

Objective: To investigate the clinical characteristics and therapy effect of peripartum cardiomyopathy.Methods: 20 cases of peripartum cardiomyopathy were analized retrospectively,and discussed.Results: After treatment,15 of 20 patients with peripartum cardiomyopathy were cured;another 5 cases died;no neonate died.Conclusion: Peripartum cardiomyopathy usually occurs within 2 months after delivery,the clinical manifestations are characterized by the presentation of ventricular enlargement and congestive heart failure,it is seen frequently in the elderly gravia and grand multipara.The principle treatment is to control the heart failure.The first time treatment can improve the therapy effect and prognosis.
