Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship between road traffic accidents and blood alcohol concentration (BAC) in drivers after drinking alcohol. Methods 2005 cases of road traffic accidents caused by drinking driving were analyzed statistically. Results Most accidents makers were male drivers, but the rate of drunk driving was similar between male and female drivers. The death rate of accidents for BAC20mg/100mL was higher than for BAC20~79mg/mL, nevertheless the death rate for BAC80mg/100mL was lower than for BAC20~79mg/mL. Conclusion The BAC criteria for drinking driving and drunk driving should be reduced.
