Abstract

Objective To study the difference between test results of urine from using urine analyzer and from using urinary sediment microscopy in cadet candidates. Methods Urine samples were selected in 573 candidates, all the tests with urinary analyzer were completed within 2 h. Besides, urinary sediments centrifuged were examined by high power microscope. The test results from 2 methods were compared. Results The accordance rate between two methods for RBC was 97.4%, for WBC was 98.4%. Conclusion Combined use of urine analyzer and urinary sediment microscopy should be adopted in routine urinary examination of cadet candidates so as to avoid misqualification and wrong disqualification.
