Abstract
Objective To assess the effect of cleaning up the subglottic secretion on the morbidity of ventilator-associated pneumonia. Methods 58 patients undergoing tracheal intubation were divided randomly into observational group and control group. The observational group were treated with cleaning up the subglocttic secrection and the control group were not so treated. The incidence of VAP then was recorded in each group. Results There was statistically significant difference between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion It suggests that cleaning up the subglottic secretion can degrade the incidence of VAP.
