Abstract

When exploring the reason of the destruction of the Qin Dynasty, the builders of Han Dynasty found that the Qin Dynasty, lacking of kinds of social ethics order as internal mental force, depended too much on violence to run the country. So Liu Bang, the first emperor of Han Dynasty began to establish filial piety to control the ideology more effectively. The theory of Filial Piety had evolved over a long period of Emperor Wen and Emperor Jing. After many successes, the function of filial piety theory had been increased greatly and the idea had become the most important way to control the ideology through the whole period of Han Dynasty.
