Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of Vitapex apexification on the therapy for dental root of not fully developed young permanent teeth. Methods This study consisted of 138 juvenile permanent teeth with the root tip not fully developed, which included endodontitis, pulp necrosis(97 teeth),apicitis(41 teeth).According to X-ray film, they were classified as type 1(16 teeth),type 2(48 teeth) and type 3(74 teeth).Vitapex apexification was performed for them. Results Of the 138 diseased teeth, succeeded in 81(58.70%);excellence in 51(36.96%);failed in six(4.35%);the effective rate being 95.65%.Conclusion Vitapex apexification is a reliable and effective therapy for root apex development of young permanent teeth.
