Abstract

Objective To retrospectively analyze and compare the therapeutic efficacies between surgery-dominated comprehensive treatment and simple concurrent chemoradiotherapy for limited-stage small cell lung cancer(SCLC).Methods A total of 75 patients who were admitted to the Chest Department of our hospital were included in the study.Histological pathology confirmed that all of them had limited-stage LSSCLS.Among the 75 patients,32 underwent surgery combined with chemotherapy or chemoradiotherapy and 43 received conventional chemoradiotherapy. Results The median survival(MS) was 56 months in the radical surgery combined with chemoradiotherapy group, and 17 months in the chemoradiotherapy group. The survival time of the surgery-chemoradiotherapy group was significantly longer than that of the chemoradiotherapy group. Conclusion The surgical-dominated comprehensive treatment can prolong the survival time of patients with limited stage SCLC and brings patients better long-term efficacy compared with the conventional chemoradiotherapy.
