Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Nasea (Ramosetron Hydrocholride) for the management of nausea and vomiting induced by chemotherapy in patients with hematological malignancies. Method:A total of 39 patients with hematological malignancies were included in Nasea group. Nasea 0.3 mg was administrated intravenously 0.5 hour before chemotherapy. The impact on anorexia, nausea and vomiting as well as the adverse effects were assessed. Meanwhile, another 39 patients received Navoban ( a single dose daily for 3 days). Result: As compared to the Navoban group, the response rate of Nasea group in controlling anorexia in 18~24 hours after chemotherapy was higher (P 0.05 ); in 18~24 hours after chemotherapy, the complete response rate and effective rate in controlling nausea was higher (P 0.05 ); in 12~18 hours and 18~24 hours after chemotherapy, the complete response rate and effective rate in controlling vomiting was higher(P 0.05 ). The incidence of adverse effects is similar between these two groups. Conclusion:Nasea belongs to a new generation of 5 HT3 receptor antagonist, it is a safe, economic and effective antiemetic drug.
