Abstract
Lithium cobalt oxide was produced with Co3O4 and lithium carbonate as raw materials using solid-state method. An investigation was made on the effects of different calcining temperatures on the electrical properties and physical and chemical properties of the cathode material LiCoO2.The results showed that the indexes of physical properties of the final products were similar when the materials was re-calcined at 920 ℃ after being calcined at 780,850 and 920 ℃ respectively. If the calcining temperature of 780 ℃ is adopted, the crushing procedure can be omitted in the process flow.It can reduce power consumption by 700 kW·h/ton product, compared to high temperature calcination.
