The Localization Diagnosis of Peripheral Facial Paralysis and Evaluation of Curative Effect of Acupuncture

Objective: To evaluate the effect of acupuncturing at different nerve localizations on peripheral facial paralysis. Methods: According to the different distributions of facial nerve segments,the facial paralysis was divided into simple facial neuritis,Bell's palsy and Hunt syndrome. The diagnosed 100 cases with peripheral facial paralysis were acupunctured to evaluate the curative effect. Results: There was a significant difference between three different parts of the paralysis( P 0. 01). There was a significant difference between comparison of simple facial neuritis and Bell's palsy and comparison of Bell's palsy and Hunt syndrome( P 0. 05). Conclusion: The higher lesion level would lead to the worse effect.
