Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical effect of plum blossom needles and cupping therapy combined acupuncture and herbal decoction in the treatment of acne. Methods One hundred and two patients with acne were randomly divided into the control group of 44 patients and the treatment group of 58 patients. The control group was given the treatment of acupuncture and herbal decoction, while the treatment group was given plum blossom needles and cupping therapy in addition to the combined acupuncture and herbal decoction treatment. Clinical effects of the two groups were compared. Results Fifty two cases in the treatment group were cured, accounting for 89.66%; 6 cases were effective, accounting for 10.34%; the total effective rate was 100.00%. Twenty cases in the control group were cured, accounting for 45.45%;18 cases were effective, accounting for 40.91%; 6 cases with no response, accounting for 13.64%; the total effective rate was 86.36%.There were significant differences of total effective rate between the two groups (P 0.05). Conclusion Plum blossom needles and cupping therapy combined acupuncture and herbal decoction is significantly effective on acne, which is worthy of clinical application.
