Antitumor Activity of Different Solvent Fractions of Qinglongyi Extracts

Objective To estimate the antitumor activity of Qinglongyi alcohol extract and different solvent fractions and screen the antitumor active fractions in vitro. Methods MTT assay was applied to screen the antitumor solvent fractions on different tumor cell lines in vitro.Results Qinglongyi alcohol extract,petroleum ether part,chloroform part and ethyl acetate part had inhibitory effect on different tumor cell lines.The IC_(50) of Qinglongyi alcohol extract against SGC-7901, HepG-2,HCT-8 and Capan-2 was 47.18,31.12,35.45,27.8L mg/L.The IC_(50) of petroleum ether part against SGC-7901,HepG-2,HCT-8 and Capan-2 was 56.72,57.14,25.96 and 15.21 mg/L respectively.The IC_(50) of chloroform part against SGC-7901,HepG-2,HCT-8 and Capan-2 was 32.08,29.59,32.47 and 60.72 mg/L respectively.The IC_(50) of ethyl acetate part against SGC-7901,HepG-2,HCT-8 and Capan-2 was 35.79,35.48,24.48 and 25.46 mg/L respectively. Butanol part and the water-soluble part had no effect on different tumor cell lines.Conclusion Qinglongyi alcohol extract,petroleum ether part, chloroform part and ethyl acetate part have considerable cytotoxin effect.Petroleum ether part,chloroform part and ethyl acetate part are considered as antitumor active parts of Qinglongyi.
