Abstract

Two-stage matrix converter (TSMC) is a kind of new matrix converter with novel topology, which has more potentials than conventional matrix converter (CMC). The concept of reference input voltage is proposed and used in the space vector modulation strategy of TSMC, which can implement the control of reactive power of TSMC. In the paper the detailed modulation method is analyzed and deduced. The relationship between the input factor and the voltage transfer ratio is also analyzed. Simulation results prove that the method can obtain excellent input and output performance and is valid in regulating the input factor of the two-stage matrix converter.
