Abstract
As one of the most common used selections for genetic algorithm,fitness-proportionate selection usually uses the method of roulette wheel. An improved way of selection based on fitness-proportionate selection is proposed in this paper.Compared with the method of roulette wheel, this method is able to find out better adaptive value and has better convergence. Finally, the result of comparison is given through the computation of numerical function.
