Water Security Evaluation of Nanjing City Based on Analytic Hierarchy Process

Urban water security is the foundation for sustainable development of the city itself and its neighbour regions.By analyzing the current status and influencing factors of water security,the water security evaluation system of Nanjing city is established from aspects of resource,society,economy and environment.Index weights are determined with analytic hierarchy process(AHP).Then the water security situations of Nanjing city from 2005 to 2009 are evaluated based on the rank of indexes weight.The results show that the water security of Nanjing city is varying between the level of safe and almost safe.Based on the index weights and the evaluation results,suggestions of improving water security situation are given,which includes cutting costs,increasing utilization of water resources,improving water quality and strengthening the rational allocation of water resources.
