Effect Evaluation of Community Rehabilitation Therapy of Elderly Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Objective To investigate the clinical value of community rehabilitation therapy to the elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in remission period,in order to improve the life quality of the patients.Methods From June 2010 to June 2012,120 elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in remission period in our community were observed,and they were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group,with 60 cases in each group.The observation group was treated with community rehabilitation therapy,including psychological and behavior intervention,home oxygen therapy,nutrition support,respiratory function training and other measures;the control group was only treated with routine treatment.The improvement of pulmonary function in both groups before and after treatment,the improvement of the quality of life and the change of disease were observed.Results After 6 months of treatment,the observation group was significantly superior to the control group in terms of pulmonary function improvement and life quality;frequency of acute attack and rehospitalization was also significantly lower than those of the control group;the difference was statistically significant(P 0.05).Conclusion Community rehabilitation therapy can effectively improve pulmonary function in elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in remission period,improve the life quality of patients,reduce the deterioration,and improve the prognosis of patients,which proves to be scientific,effective,and worthy of clinical popularization.
