What did Science and Technology Contribute to the Invention of Watt's Steam Engine Respectively?

Abstract
There are three different points of view whether the steam engine was invented promoted by scientific knowledge directly.This paper summarizes the history of the invention of the Watt's steam engine from two aspects,first is the contribution of technology to Watt's steam engine invention,the second is the contribution of scientific theory is to Watt's steam engine contrib.And then draw a conclusion: the invention of the steam engine is the results from a technical activities of long-term continuous improvement rather than a mutation of scientific theory;the contribution of Scientific theory to the invention of the steam engine is small;but the scientific method especially the experimental method and quantitative methods played an important role for Watt improving steam engine.
