Abstract
A new environmentally friendly drilling fluid specially designed for use in offshore drilling was formulated using an amine shale inhibitor AMI,an aluminum polymer PAL,and filtration reducer and lubricant that are free of toxicity. Study on the comparison of this seawater drilling fluid and other drilling fluids such as poly-glycol fluid and alkyl polyglycoside (APG) fluid is done the it shows that this seawater drilling fluid has superior inhibitive capacity and is safe to reservoir drilling.It is also environmentally friendly for use in offshore drilling.
