Abstract
A new safety management method of urban gas pipelines is proposed by analyzing the relationship between safety management and risk management. The potential risks are estimated by the application of risk matrix and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, which can determine the nature of risks.Taking the gas pipelines in a certain city for example, the failure possibility grade of the pipeline is Ⅱ level and the failure consequences grade is V level.Accordingly, the risk grade of the pipeline is located in the high areas by the risk matrix, and more rigorous and effective measures should be taken to achieve the purposes of safety management.
