Abstract
【Objective】To study the long-term toxicity of Rutongan extract on rat to provide some data for its clinical use.【Methods】80 rats were randomly divided into 4 groups, each group were given Rutongan extract intragastrically in dose of 0,21.6,10.8,5.4 g/kg for 13 weeks.20 animals were killed immediately after last dose,6 rats were observed for 4 weeks after medicine withdraw.Parameters were examined include body weight, food intake, blood cell, blood biochemistry, organ index, and histopathological examination.【Results】After medicine withdraw, all parameters of Rutongan extract group showed no changes as compared with control group(P0.05).No toxic reaction was observed.【Conclusion】Rutongan tablets is safe in its clinical use with the recommended dosage.
