Tracheal stent in benign tracheal stenosis

Abstract

Objective:To discuss the role of tracheal stent in benign tracheal stenosis.Methods:Eight cases of benign tracheal stenosis were implanted the tracheal stent with the guidance of accurate digital substrution angiography positioning.Results:All stents were implanted successfully for one time.There were altogether 9 stents implanted,including 5 tracheal stents,2 tracheal-bronchial stents and 2 bronchial stents.The symptoms of dyspnea and respiratory rapidity were quickly relieved after treatment.Conclusions:Placement of tracheal stent is safe and effective for treatment of benign tracheal stenosis.
