Evaluation on ornamental value and adaptability of introduced perennial ornamental grasses in Ningbo

Ornamental value and adaptability of 13 introduced perennial ornamental grasses were evaluated in Ningbo by gray-correlation analysis.Evaluation index for ornamental value were plant growth,ornamental value,inflorescence aesthetics,leaf color and survival rate etc.Evaluation index for adaptability were drought resistance,cold resistance,heat resistance,waterlogging tolerance,disease and pest resistance etc.The results showed that Cortaderia selloana and Cortaderia selloana ‘Pumila’ with strong resistance could be used for landscape in full year;Acorus gramineus var.pusillus and Carex oshimensis 'Evergold' showed good landscape effect except in summer;Hemerocallis fulva 'Baltimore Oriole' was an ideal material for its ornamental flowers and leaves;The performance of Stipa tenuissima was absolutely outstanding in late spring and early summer.
