Abstract
The behavior of bubbles in a two-dimensional gas-solid fluidized bed was investigated by photographic method, especially the characteristic of bubble distribution. Adats processing system for photographic method was developed. The effects of experimental conditions, such as distributor, particle diameter, fluidizing velocity and bed height on bubble concentration, were analyzed. The experiment results were compared with calculated results of mathematic model proposed by the authors. The experimental results indicate that the bubbles distribute inhomo- geneous along the bed height and the merging and splitting of bubbles take place in the bed. For given particles, the bubble concentration is basically steady at a fixed plane the distributor, and the effects of the fluidizing velocity on it is finite.
