Clnical Observation on Acupoint Application and Moxibustion Treatment of Chronic Heart Failure

Objective: To observe the efficacy of acupoint application and moxibustion on chronic heart failure(CHF).Methods: 60 cases were divided into treatment group and control group,30 cases of each.The control group was given normal treatment,while the treatment group based on the control group was given acupoint application and moxibustion.The treatment course of both groups was 2 weeks.The cardiac function and adverse reactions were observed 2 weeks later.Results: The total effective rate of the treatment group was 90.0% which was higher than 76.7% of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P0.05).3 cases of the control group occorred muscle spasm,while 2 of the treatment group showed an allergy to tape.All of them were alleviated by symptomatic treatment.Conclusion: Acupoint application and moxibustion has satisfatory efficacy in treatment of CHF,which is safe and economical,and it is worth to be widely used.
