Abstract
Objective To investigate the influence of curcumin on the apoptosis of keratinocyte and its mechanism of action in vitro. Methods The effects of curcumin of consecutive concentrations on the proliferation of HaCaT were observed by MTT assay.Apoptosis was evaluated by flow cytometry. The activity of caspase-3 and caspase-9 was determined by fluorescent analysis. Results After HaCaT were treated with curcumin(5umol/L),the percentage of the early apoptotic cells were significantly increased and the levels of Caspase-3 and caspase-9 activity were increased after the treatment. Conclusion Curcumin induces apoptosis of HaCaT cells through activation of caspase-9 and caspase-3.
