Abstract
The nonlinear Rossby waves with bate effect and stratification effect in a horizontal component of the earth rotation are studied by using the semi-geostrophic approximate, which have a constant of the Coriolis parameter. The solitary Rossby waves described by KdV and KdV-mKdV equation are derived. The results show the horizontal component, beta effect and stratification effect can be important to the Rossby waves.
