Effect of health education on the drug-taking compliance of hypertension patients

Objective To understand effect of health education on the understanding of knowledge related to the disease and the drug-taking compliance of hypertensive patients. Methods A self-designed questionnaire was handed out to 200 hypertensive patients to investigate the understanding of the knowledge relevant to the disease. Then the drug-taking compliance before and after health education was investigated to compare the changes in their compliance. Results The patients with good drug-taking compliance were superior to those with poor compliance in understanding their diseases. After health education, the drug-taking compliance was markedly raised among the patients. Conclusion Health education is able to raise the understanding of the knowledge related to the diseases as well as the medical compliance.
