Abstract
The microsporogenesis of male sterility in spring radish was oberved. The results indicated that the degeneration of microsopores began at the stage of microsporocyte, and continued at later stages. Single nucleus microspores were highly vacuolated. The vacuolated cytomplasm could not provide energy for mitotic divsion, which made microspores keep at that stage. At last single nucleus microspores disappeared. The abnormity of tapetal cells was also an important reason for the degeneration.
