Abstract
The mechanical properties of a skew girder bridge differ a great deal from those of an orthogonal girder bridge. In this paper, the calculation methods for the skew girder bridge are introduced.Through analysis of a continuous skew girder bridge by means of the spatial three-dimensional finite element, the influences of the skew angles, transverse bracing stiffness and supporting stiffness on the mechanical behavior of the bridge are discussed, several conclusions in connection with the analysis of the bridge have been obtained and according to the analysis, the relevant proposals for design of skew girder bridges are made.
