Transporting Natural Gas Hydrate Slurries in Pipelines

Abstract

A comparison to transportation manners between natural gas hydrate(NGH)and conventional natural gas transmission are carried out.Comparison result shows that the transporting method of natural gas hydrate can obviously cut down the cost of natural gas storage and transmission and increase economy and safety in natural gas storage and transmission.The probability for NGH transportation as a slurry is analyzed.The paper presents production and decomposition technologies of NGH slurry and puts forward some technical issues to be urgently solved in utilizing NGH as a solid transportation to realize commercial transportation of NGH.
