Abstract

Objective: To explore the dynamic changes and clinical significance of HCY in the serum and spinal cord tissue after rat acute spinal cord injury. Methods: Eighty-four healthy Wistar rats, with no limit of male or female, which were divided into seven groups at random, and one group was used as control group and the 6 others were prepared into acute spinal cord injury models. We collected the cardiac blood and spinal cord tissue at 1h,6h,12h,24h,48h and 72h after injury.the HCY change in the serum was measured by ELISA and the HCY change in spinal cord tissue was detected by Laser scanning confocal microscope at different time points. Results: After the spinal cord injury, the HCY expression in the serum and spinal cord tissue of injury model group was increased significantly at 0h to 12h compared with control group,it reached a peak at 24h-48h,and at 72h began to decline, but also higher than that of the control group.Conclution: The HCY level is increased significantly in the serum and spinal cord tissue of rat acute spinal cord injury, which can be used as an index for its progress, and will provide the theory basis for the timing of its clinic intervention.
