Abstract

Objective To study the pathogeny of artrophic glossitis. Methods 139 clinical cases of atrophic glossitis collected from 2000 to 2004 were investigated, and were treated, respectively. Results 32 cases were caused by Zagaris disease, 50 cases were caused by candidiasis infection, and 57 cases were caused by chronic anemia. Among the 57 cases of chronic anemia,28 cases suffered from gastric and intestine diseases, MCV of 34 cases was higher than normal, and hemoglobin of 8 cases was lower than normal. There was no significant difference between cases with atrophic glossitis and normal in SF(P0.05). Satisfactory effect was achieved by treatment. Conclusion The pathogeny of artrophic glossitis was complex. Vit B6, Vit B 12 and Folacin were necessary for treating atrophic glossitis caused by chronic anemia. Moreover, antifungal therapy is needed in treating atrophic glossitis.
