Abstract
Displacement monitoring is an important job in safe dam operation. In the building of a dam displacement prediction model, the serious relativity problem exists among the impact factors, and the stability of model coefficients is affected. This problem can be solved by the method of principal component regression analysis. The principle of principal component regression analysis is introduced, and then a principal component regression model and a stepwise regression model are built with dam displacement and correlated factors on the basis of monitoring data of a project.A comparison shows that the principal component regression model is better.
