Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical experience of perioperative management in elderly patients with gastric cancer. Methods The clinical data of 46 cases of elderly patients with gastric cancer from June 2006 to June 2011 were analyzed retrospectively. Results The preoperative complications in 46 elderly patients with gastric cancer were as follows: 8 cases of diabetes mellitus, 5 cases of hypertension, 37 cases of anemia, 13 cases of respiratory system disease (chronic bronchitis, pulmonary infection, cor pulmonale and so on), 8 cases of hypoproteinemia. 31 cases received radical resection, 11 cases received palliative resection, 2 cases received gastrojejunostomy. Conclusion Elderly patients with gastric cancer are susceptible to various organs of chronic disease. Strengthening the perioperative surgical treatment can improve operation safety, and improve long-term effect and survival rate.
