Abstract
By analyzing hydrogeological condition of the Xinzheng city, this paper presents a conceptual model, and a three-dimensional numerical simulation model of the groundwater was built with the GMS software.Current groundwater resources of shallow aquifers are evaluated with the model. The groundwater levels were predicted for years 2015 and 2020.The result shows that the groundwater levels will continue to decline in the study area. The water level will drop by 5~10 m in 2020,depression cones may be formed in some areas. In order to slow down groundwater level drawdown,we should adjust the industrial structure, strengthen the management of water resources, and improve water use efficiency in order to reduce groundwater development.
