Abstract

The computation of power frequency overvoltage and switching overvoltage in a330kV power transmission project of Gongbo Gorge by EMTP is presented in this paper.The results show that the power frequency overvoltage is within the extent of design criteria,and the closing resistor inside circuit breaker can be eliminated while the switching overvoltage can be limited effectively merely by MOA.
