Abstract

Yangshen,an eminent theorist specializing in Ci plays an important part in the history of Ci studies in the Ming Dynasty.His Cipin is of vital academic importance because of his textual research in the patterns of Ci,emendating and collecting Ci texts quoted in other works in it.His source research of Ci texts promotes a full understanding of them.His theories of the origins of Ci styles,the styles of Ci and the emotion-orientation of Ci have exerted great influence on the study of Ci.Therefore,Cipin is an indispensable book in the study of the history of Ci theories both in the Ming Dynasty and in other historical periods of China.
