Abstract
Comparisons were made between the characteristics of the wind profile observed by the wind profiler and the wind profile simulated by mesoscale numerical model(MM5)from 8 th June 1998 to 9 th June 1998 at Hong Kong. The results showed that the wind profile simulated by MM5 is similar to that observed by the wind profiler. This confirmed the rationality of researching the structure and mechanism of the mesoscale convective system using MM5.
