Abstract

To understand the pollution of freshwater algae in natural mineral water sources for drinking Sampling was carried out in 77 natural mineral water sources supplying water for 74 manufactories of bottled mineral water Freshwater algae was found in 40 water samples (51 95%) of the total 77 water samples Chloraphyta,Cyanophyta and Bacillariophyta revealed higher detected rates,as well as Xanthophyta and Euglenophyta Among 25 detected algae genera, Syne chococcus and Chlorella were the dominant algae genera,as well as Chlorococcum,Scenedesmus,Oscillatoria anacystis and Naicula were commonly detectable genera No correlations were observed between the detected rates of algae and the total count of bacteria, total coliform of source water [Conclusion]The pollution of natural mineral water source by algae might be the main factor resulting in the pollution of algae in bottled mineral water
